Flashback moment:If you’re under 30, you’ve probably never heard the Point Break soundtrack from 1991 (or even seen the original movie for that matter, in which case, that’s a sin). But when the first Point Break hit the theatres 25 years ago, this song by American glam band Ratt banged home the message that Bodhi hinted at during a trivial conversation at a party one night:

If you want the Ultimate, you have to be willing to pay the ultimate price.

That’s basically the message from the original Point Break, and this track, called Nobody Rides For Free, capped the finale of that amazing movie, and – sadly – it acts like a bit of a prophecy.

Twenty-five years ago, extreme sports was in its infancy. There was no YouTube or wingsuits. Now fast forward to 2016 and extreme sports has permeated our culture and made available to a new generation that goes far beyond surfing and skydiving.

Like the man says, Nobody Rides For Free. Dean Potter and Ian Flanders can attest to that. Tragic or beautiful, there’s always a price for that Ultimate Ride.

But I digress. Watch this video from the original Point Break soundtrack. It’s grainy, but it’s still a banger. And be sure to watch the original Point Break if you haven’t seen it yet. I hope you enjoy this track as much as I do.
